I run a professional Bristol based dog walking company covering Clifton and surrounding areas, and I am looking to recruit another dog walker to join our small friendly team.

The ideal candidate will be a dog owner past or present who is confident and experienced in handling a variety of dog breeds. Ideally you will have an understanding of canine behaviour and experience in basic training techniques. You must be calm, punctual, reliable, flexible, physically fit and be willing to walk up to 5 dogs off lead in all weather conditions (full training provided).

The role involves collecting dogs and taking them on group walks in beautiful locations such as Leigh Woods. There may be the occasional cat or rabbit to visit & cuddle as well as solo lead walks for the less sociable dogs and young puppies.

My clients are Bristol based and therefore you must live in the area, and have excellent knowledge of Clifton and the areas that immediately surround it.

You will need a full clean drivers license and be happy driving the company vehicle provided. For our insurance purposes you will need to be over 25 years old.

I am looking for somebody able to work 5 days per week, Monday to Friday very roughly between the hours of 9:30am-3.30pm, although we are able to be flexible for the right person. The successful candidate must be happy to undergo a basic police check and join us on a self-employed basis.

I require ongoing commitment for this position and therefore this is not suitable for interim employment. Time is spent building strong bonds with the dogs and my clients; therefore someone committed to a long-term role/career would be more suited. A lot of training goes into staff and there's too much to introduce new staff members to for it to be a temporary role.

I feel the need to say that dog walking is not an easy job. Walking groups of dogs to the standards of care we provide and that our clients expect is a huge responsibility and it can often be stressful trying to work within the daily timeframes. Dogs are not robots so patience, understanding and vigilance is a must!

In the first instance please email a cover letter and/or CV and specify how you meet the above requirements in your covering letter. For example, "I have held a uk license for 5 years and currently drive a Ferrari. I was raised by a pack of wild dogs which gave me the experience I need for this job" and so on.
